Hope you are enjoying the summer mix, cause its summer.
Here is a new The Washed Up Slut/Technically Men tune.

Cheers.

THE WILD LIFE SUMMER MIX

Hello All.
Summer is here, yes honestly it is here. I realise in the UK it looks like it never will be but it is, so there.
And to prove it I am letting you have
Over an hour of beautiful, beautiful tunes for you to lower your drink/drug/sun addled brain into and have a long, long soak.
Its all accompanied by clips from some mad 80's film I discovered recently with all your favourites, a thin Chris Penn, an non- mad Randy Quaid and if you watch carefully a very brief cameo from Ronnie Wood robbing a fridge

1. Alice Coltrane - Journey In Satchidananda
2. Alicia Keys - Unthinkable (Physical Therapy Heavy Vibe Remix)
3. EPMD - Please Listen To My Demo
4. Walsh - Sweet Draemz
5 Bruce Springsteen - Dream Baby Dream
6. Suicide Dream Baby Dream
7. Slick Rick - Street Talking
8. James Pants - Screams Of Passion
9 The Washed Up Slut - Clean & Beautiful (Demo)
10. The Jet Age Of Tomorrow - Want You Still
11. The Marvelettes - The Hunter Gets Captured By The Game
12. The Crampton Sisters - Baby Baby
13. Pokie Hudson - This Gets To Me
14. Holy Other - Touch (Supreme Cuts Mix)
15. Felix Da Housecat - Somekinda Special
16. Nicolette - Waking Up
17. Nuages - No Work Today
18. Ariel Pink Haunted Graffiti - Reminiscences
19. Lo-Fidelity Allstars - Valentines Boast

There you have it , the sound of sticky sidewalks, drugs in central park and brewdrivers.
Cheers.

Here is a link to a quick tune Lord & Master knocked to together. New Boyfriend.
Just been listening to a great interview with Alan Vega from Suicide and their amazing music made me think of New Boyfriend, not sure why.
The picture was taken at Greenpoint subway station. Balwin has never looked so good.

Forehead Jetlag Special

Hello All.

Back in the USA, back in the grind, back from the road again.

40th birthday, drink, kids, sun, wedding avoidance, heartbreak record sale, 100 favourites. That was the UK for me.

Sold my record collection, no way I could ever afford to bring them back to the US with me Very hard. Brought back 100 of my favourites and in my Jetlag madness I put together this mix of a few of the better more tripped out tunes.

i will put together a mix of some of the more uptempo ones soon.

Here is the tunes on there.

1. Johnny Nash - Chain Gang. An amazing version of the Sam Cooke classic by the man who gave us 'I Can See Clearly Now'. Brilliant Holographic album cover.

2. Pale Saints - Kinky Love. Great cover of the Nancy Sinatra song by one of Leeds' best bands

3. Timberland & Magoo - Up Jumps The Boogie. Proper tune from Timberlands first album 'Welcome To Our World'. Timberland was truly amazing before he discovered weightlifting and Katy Perry. We pray for the return.

4. Digital Underground - Sex Packets. Much more than just Humpty Hump. Title track from their debut album. Great attempt at a mad Funkadelic ramble

5. Primal Scream - Carry Me Home. A lovely cover of a Dennis Wilson track from Primal Scream when they were at their peak. The Dixie Narco EP is brilliant. A friend bumped into Bobby Gillespe at Brighton train station the other day, very nice fella apparently, I'm not sure why but I found that surprising

6. Nicolette - Single Ring - This is such a good track but it makes me so so sad. The Nicolette album, Now is Early is one of the best album of the 90's but sold nothing, NOTHING. Its produced by Shut Up & Dance and is amazing. Gonna be some more tunes from this on the more uptempo mix thing I do.

7. Emile - Aural Exciters. Really rare bit of mad cosmic disco.

Years ago I bought the album which is called Spooks In Space just for the cover which had a drawing of the afore-mentioned Spooks in Space. I've since found out its worth alot of money, it also features the amazing James Chance on horns. The rest of the album is even madder disco

8. Milk Does The Body Good - Audio 2. One of the most underated Hip Hop groups from the 90's' Their Top Billin album is still one of my favourites. This is a B-side but is such a mad tune. Love how the beat, which is obviously played in live rushes on the 'break' section, somebodys finger must have slipped

9. Easier Said Than Done - Little Antony & The Imperials.

Beautiful track from Little Antony. We actually tried to get Little Antony to sing on 'Don't Be Afraid Of Love'. Sadly never heard back, him and D'angelo missed out on the their chance of a lifetime.

10. Kiss & Make Up - St Ettienne. Ahh, memories of sun soaked, pill fuelled London wandering.

11. What Is Soul - Stereo Mc's. Album track from their first LP.

Loved Stereo Mc's. Saw them supporting A Certain Radio at Leicester Uni many, many years ago. This album is brilliant. UK Hip Hop classic in my opinion but don't ever expect them to make any lists, they committed the cardinal sin of having a hit. those bastards.

12. Emotions Electric/Spottieottiedopaliscious. Guy Called Gerald/Outkast

The house tune was taken from A Guy Called Geralds Peel Session. Don't think it was ever released anywhere else. Gerald was amazing and this is just proper house. I mixed the acapella from outkast on top just cause I had it on vinyl, multicoloured vinyl thank you very much. I'm working on doing a full version of this bootleg and will post it once its done.

So there you go Jetlag madness. Hope you enjoy.

Get it HHHHEEERRRREEEEE!!!!!

Cheers.

Hello All.
Hope you are well.
Heading back to the UK on monday for my 40th birthday.
So there will be no posts while I'm away, trying to forget about music for a couple of weeks.
But until then here is a new dirty Washed Up Sluts tune. HERE.
It features an accapella from a famous new york drag queen, Roxy.
Can't let you have a download as its all a bit unofficial but I think its nice and dirty and would like you all to hear it.
The picture is of my favourite bar in New York. Brouwerij Lane in Green point. Good, good beer.
Spent many a drunken time there. Please go if in NYC. It be great.
Nice one. Hopefully one more tune before I leave.
